Fault Finding & Repairs: common questions
Why does my RCD keep tripping?
Common causes include a faulty appliance, moisture getting into an outdoor socket or light, or damaged cable. Try unplugging everything on the circuit. If it still trips, it needs testing.
Can you fix it on the first visit?
Many faults can be found and fixed in one visit. Some need parts or more investigation. If so, we'll make things safe and explain the next step and the cost before going further.
Are flickering lights dangerous?
Sometimes it's just a failing bulb or an incompatible dimmer. It can also be a loose connection, which can overheat. If it happens across several lights, or you hear buzzing, get it checked.
