24/7 Emergency Electrician: common questions
Do you do emergency call-outs at night and at weekends?
Yes. We take emergency call-outs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 07871 056970 and tell us what's happened.
How much does an emergency call-out cost?
A standard call-out is £102 including VAT (£85 + VAT). An emergency call-out in the evening or at the weekend is £174 including VAT (£145 + VAT).
Which areas do you cover for emergency call-outs?
We're based in Wood Green, N22, and cover North London, including Haringey, Tottenham, Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Highgate, Palmers Green, Finchley, Enfield and Islington, as well as Hampstead and central London.
What should I do while I wait for an electrician?
If it's safe to reach, switch off at the main switch on your consumer unit. Don't touch anything scorched, sparking or wet. If there's smoke or fire, get everyone out and call 999. If your neighbours and the street lights are off too, it's a power cut: call 105 to reach your local network operator.
What counts as an electrical emergency?
Anything that could cause a fire or a shock. That includes burning smells, sparking, scorch marks, exposed wires, water getting into electrics and a total loss of power that isn't a wider power cut. If in doubt, switch off at the main switch and call.
Should I keep resetting a tripping breaker?
No. A breaker or RCD trips to protect you. Unplug everything on that circuit and try once. If it trips again straight away, leave it off and get it checked, because repeated resets can hide a real fault.
