Smart Home Wiring: common questions
When should smart home wiring go in?
Ideally at first fix, during a rewire, extension or renovation, before plastering. That's when cables can be hidden in the walls and ceilings. Even if you're not buying the smart kit yet, it's worth putting the cables in now.
Can you make my existing home smart without a rewire?
Often, yes. Many smart switches and dimmers can replace your existing ones. Some need a neutral wire at the switch, which older homes may not have, so we check what you've got first and tell you what's possible.
Can you wire a TV or media wall?
Yes. We wire media walls with power and cables hidden behind the wall, often with LED lighting around them. You can see examples on our lighting page.
